Hello Amazon.com, Goodbye Canadian Retailers

I am so done with the massive difference in price between what I can find an Amazon.com (and other US websites) and what I find available in Canada.

Item Amazon.com
Canadian Retailer
Wheel covers $50 for four, free shipping
(this was from Amazon.ca)
$35 for one! One!
Motorcycle stand $30 + $20 to ship
[well reviewed stand]
$130 + tax
[poorly reviewed stand]
Motorcycle battery $65 + $40 to ship
[brand name battery]
$125 + tax
[generic battery]
Replacement batteries for home phone $11 for three batteries with free shipping within the US. Add $12 shipping by shipito.com to forward on to Canada $17 for a one single battery on Amazon.ca, plus tax, plus shipping!
eZee replacement battery for ebike $499 from NYCEWheels.com
(no tax)
$700 at local bike store,
plus our 11% tax
Motorcycle mirrors $40 from QualityTalk + another $40 shipping via ViAddress.com $342 from Bayside Performance
Yes, $171 each! Unbelievable!

For shipping large items to Victoria, BC I use Clipper Direct. Ship to Seattle and they will bring it over on the ferry for very reasonable fees. Another option for Victoria (that I haven't tried) is Seawings Express.

I could go on and on. I keep finding things that are so much cheaper in the US. Canadian retailers can take a hike.

But wait! I have ordered something from a Canadian(ish) retailer: the book "Head First Design Patterns" from indigo.ca for $35 (free shipping). The other (cheapest) option was from Amazon.com for a used copy for $20 and $25 shipping (seems like a lot for shipping).
